The academic forum was held on Thur 10th Sept 2026 to introduce participants to BioCosmos Africa and BioCosmos Uganda, with a theme of Intelligent Design Through the Lenses of African Scholars
The academic forum began with opening remarks and introductions, followed by a presentation on the background of BioCosmos Africa and BioCosmos Uganda. Participants were then introduced to Intelligent Design, including methods of design detection such as Complex and Specified Information, Irreducible Complexity, the Explanatory Filter, the Scientific Method, and Abductive Reasoning. Relevant scientific case studies, including DNA and blood clotting, were discussed.
The academic forum also addressed the distinction between Macro-evolution and Micro-evolution and the position of BCA. Participants were guided on enrolling for BCA courses, registering as members of BioCosmos Uganda, and accessing the BCA Research Fund 2026 Call.
The event concluded with completion of an online feedback form and a Question-and-Answer session, giving participants an opportunity to seek clarification and share their views. Overall, the academic forum provided participants with valuable knowledge about Intelligent Design, BioCosmos activities, training opportunities, and research engagement.
